Mole Catcher’s Cottage is a recently renovated cosy cottage with a contemporary twist. With its own walled garden the cottage is situated in the heart of the secret North Pennines, in the village of Allenheads. Beamed throughout, the cottage has one double and one twin bedroom, a living room with wood burning stove and a charming modern kitchen and bathroom.

Within walking distance of the Allenheads Inn and other village amenities the cottage provides a fantastic base within which to explore the surrounding countryside. Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder, Hexham and the Lake District are all a short distance away. The area is famous for its beautiful walks and cycle rides, indeed Allenheads is halfway on the C2C cycle route from Whitehaven to Sunderland.

The cottage has full double glazing and is heated throughout by electric storage radiators. The beds have cosy warm duvets and bed linen and towels are provided for your stay. All electricity costs are included in the price, however if you would like to use the stove there is an additional charge for coal or wood. There is off-road parking and cycles are available to hire by prior arrangement.
"I've been meaning to write to say thanks for the weekend at the beginning of February. It was lovely having the cottage and the four of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the christening on the Sunday. The snow made everything so attractive (almost alpine). I'm sure we will be back."
“Great!! We were greeted at Molecatchers cottage on a cold evening at the beginning of March to the smell of the lovely burning log fire, thanks to Jim, the caretaker. Molecatchers has all the amenities you need. From the spotless kitchen through to the cosy bedrooms you just can’t fault it. We opted to walk the rather mild local nature trail, but there are lots more challenging walks if you want. For us, Mole Catcher's was a place to unwind and relax, a 'get away from it all' weekend, and we’ll certainly be going back!!"
